Why a business thrives when others fail

Wow, you opened it, sure you want to learn something new... Slow down, why did you really open it or why do you want to learn this...while you thinking, let me get to the topic.
Most people say businesses thrive on strategy, motivation or passion. All this are correct depending on the understanding of who said it. We can also say all good girls marry as a virgin ? ... But are we totally right ? ... What about rape ? My point is understanding is what separates the ordinary from the extraordinary. Kenneth hagin said he has preached on faith for over 60 years but he finds a better sermon on faith all the time he preaches. Can I say that most people who have been successful are bold persons, they took risks because they found a purpose. The number one brand in the world according to Forbes is Apple, the founder saw something people need and wanted to give it to them. He preached that and made his customers that know he is after there needs and yes that was good marketing. So why did you open this post, you have a purpose right, great, but it is not as good as when you can make it other people's purpose too and make the customers see it as the answer to their questions. This is what makes a business thrive. So the key point is find something people need, make people around you buy into the vision and show people that it is their own need ....Stop bragging about how great your product is, it only shows you created it to get money out of there pocket. You see most businesses have one or two but not three, apple found the three and that's why 30-40% buy Apple products the remaining are just followers of those ones bcos only those few have a taste or know there taste. So if you think you have this three, why give up, soon those who know their taste will find you and the followers who have been rejecting your product will come to say "The product is not bad " .... Keep preaching it if you believe it. Remember never stop marketing your product. MTN Nigeria was not the first communication in Nigeria but Nigerians needed to make calls everywhere they go as this was the key problem.... Glo preach their great product not the beautiful service they render and the need they meet. That's why they are performing less than they should. Maybe they are more interested in the brand ambassadors than the customers I don't really know... What is the meaning of "Rule your world" to a customer who is making call...They speak more to the Stars than to me. If they use those ambassadors to reach there customers directly not through adverts, it would be far better. So preach your solution not your great product... Am Isaac Bakare, stay rich in your mind.

Going for Masters

When I thought of doing masters, I felt it will help me get a job. But i never had interest in getting a job since i came back from my internship at routel. I went for an interview at interswitch Ltd for the fun of it, am serious... I can be very funny or crazy about knowledge. I just started my NYSC in November 2015 when I was invited for a job at interswitch Ltd in February, I was not ready for a job but it was good to learn from the interview. I was not planning to get the job, when I told a senior friend at NCCF who also came for the interview that am a Batch C corper, he was like "What are you doing here", LOL. We met this guy who had masters from U.K and we were all dazed because we were all fresh graduates. To cut the long story short, i had more experience in the field than he does and when we were put to test, he didn't go to the next phase.
If you are thinking of going for masters so you can get a job, there are so many persons who have that and are jobless. Am always against the European style of Education adopted by Nigeria, It is old, it does not work anymore because we are in a different age not the colonial age. I have friends who will employ masters student in the next few years as I will, but our career is built on what we can do and we have only a first degree. instead of wasting my money on Masters, I will spend it on getting a skill. Some masters courses actually give you a skill, you should consider those not those that will bring you to the Mercy of a first degree older like me or Samson abioye (CEO pass.ng) and co. Start or finish something someone has abandoned like Thomas Edison did. There is nothing bad in getting a job but in this economy, don't waste money on education that does not empower you with a skill. The colonial age is over and that style of education is for that age, Be smart. There are so many websites that can help u get a skill like Lynda, pluralsight.com, edx.org, cousera.com and co. Get some skills today.

Branded molue

Movement is a necessity for humans, so transportation can also be a form of growth. The better your mode of transportation can be said to show the quality of one's life. Transportation in Lagos has evolved, remember the days of 'molue' in lagos ? Yellow with black stripes, they were a symbol of this great state. Molue had a vision to carry more people through a distance, though that depreciated the speed of transportation. They were long and had space for over 50 passengers sitting, and an abused standing passenger flexibility. It was filled with fun of discussion, advert and many more. The smoke was crazy and it was doing both harm and good.
The Lagos state government wanted to stop the harm and make Lagos a good city, the government started the BRT , it was nice, with very comfortable sit, fast lane to ease traffic, it was well planned and looked like it was a revolution. Soon we found them not washed and passengers had to write "Wash me please on them", soon they became very rough, break down on the road and frustrate users. They are just a branded molue this days, the standing is annoyingly maximized. They started well, but they could not maintain the standard. This is same with us as humans, we start a business well, we start a vision well and along the way we stop the hardwork ,we stop doing maintenance of things. Career needs maintenance, your walk with God needs maintenance and every thing we do, requires maintenance whose price is hardwork. Stay strong, stay motivated. A new set of buses have been purchased I took one and it was fun, fully air conditioned and look like it was designed for comfort. I hope it will be maintained so we don't have another molue in blue color, forming LAGBUS.
Sometimes we need washing, oiling and other things in form of words and alone time to think and strategize. Maintenance can be from scripture, inspirational books, seminars, sermons etc. There are so many things that take our attention and we are kept busy always recovering instead of discovering. We spend more time with primitive things because of want, instead of becoming a being that produces things that we want. Instead going on a journey of discovery, we are on a journey of fantasy. We need more time to be alone, quiet and like an introvert think and become great men and women. So let us take time off making money like the BRT and spend time alone doing maintenance. Refuse to be a branded molue so you can move with great speed, on the fast lane even  as we carry more responsibilities like the passengers of molue. #Jesus loves you.

Uncompleted road

Most times we find uncompleted roads and we complain, but we have such in our lives and we feel we can just move on. Uncompleted roads are ugly and waste resources. Lagos; the city of excellence, has the very popular city of Ikorodu. Going into Ikorodu can be tedious, known for heavy traffic; it is a scary place for any visitor. The Lagos state government has been trying hard to make the road better, thanks to Babatunde Raji Fashola, the awesome past Governor that has touched many lives. Though, in his tenure there were big sores in the handsome six-packs body, but Lagosians ignored it and praised our fine man. In ikorodu area, before getting to Ikorodu bus-stop, There is a junction linking "Eyita"/" Power line" area, around "haruna" bus-stop, which has a road to relieve the traffic before getting to Ikorodu. It was a good road to construct as it leads to major areas in ikorodu, it was contracted out, but it has been left uncompleted for months now.

Bad roads can cause this

Road from haruna bus-stop(Only good part)

Road to leading to Ikorodu areas.

I noticed when they started the road, I saw idle men standing, sitting and drinking expensive alcohol, and the place was always bubbling with fun instead of work. I believe they were supervisors and the “Omo-onile” (The touts that disturb during construction and claim “land owner”). I assumed most of the money was spent on bribing and fun, before the work was completed. This is due to lack of proper planning. In our lives also are uncompleted projects, vision and dreams we are still sleeping on. We move on and sometimes promise to come back to it, we won’t. We most times find ourselves start work on a new idea, business, vision or whatever, leaving the uncompleted ones to our GHOST. Thomas Edison has the highest number of patent in the U.S.A, he said he finished other inventor’s work and started few ones to achieve this. We find ourselves anticipating the profit more than we anticipate the cost. Am an Engineer but I did some management courses in school, and we were taught to be more conscious and consider expenditure than income, because at the end, we have more profit. Whatever vision or project we have, let us have a plan to finish it. Finishing require detail analysis of the expenditure involved, not the profit. We find profit of contract spent before the contract is executed, this leaves the project uncompleted and the client ANGRY. If you have a dream, and you know the cost, all that is left is an opportunity, so get a cost for the plan to finish that project and believe your dream will come true. Trust God, keep dreaming and prepare a plan to finish every vision, project etc. #ExpenditureFirst

GRANDMAs

Grand mothers, they are a blessing if you have them, like the scripture says, the white hair is there glory, am sure every lady will want to be one someday. Why did i decide to write about them, i feel if we are all like them, the world will be a better place. So what is so wonderful about them, that A man called "Sugata mitra",  built an educational platform around them, it was "a school in the cloud" this same platform brought this man the "2013 TED PRIZE" award. I hope you know TED talk, if you don't, you need to google it and follow it. So if this platform was successful, then, there is something we all need to learn from our Grandmas.
I met my grandma very few times before she passed away, one thing i noticed about her, is her love for her family, how she wants to see them grow and unite, she will defend her family with  her last breath, what a wonderful woman.Am sure if you had one, you will know they love and support, But what caught my attention is not all have mentioned above, it is there words of encouragement when you are doing the most stupid thing on earth or the most beautiful thing.
They will encourage you anyways, either its great or stupid, not good or bad, because they will spank you if you do that,at least mine will do, so they do make corrections. But am talking about me saying "i want to be a singer",we all know that is so, so, so, STUPID! because i have the worst voice on earth, i don't even know how to sing on a key, but they have a magical way of finding the good in the most stupid thing. It all about there words of encouragement because they can see the good in every situation. The SCHOOL IN THE CLOUD, has Grandmas as the teachers of the platform. They more or less know nothing about what the student is learning, all they know is speak English to them, but they are there acting like they know, encouraging the student to study better and asking questions they don't even know the answer but the success rate of the student is so high that the platform is making wave. I started writing poem sometimes ago, and i remember some of my friends encouraged me, Especially "Ndifreke George, Linda Obodo and Funmilayo Abiodun", but the best friend i had then, who was special, felt i was stupid and just wasting my time doing that, she thrashed it and i was demoralized. I had an idea someday and visited a boss to see how i can pursue it, he sounded discouraging to me and that was the end of it. Now there is a platform built around similar idea. What is my point? we need to learn to encourage someone each day, we need to see good in every situation by shutting out all the bad until we find one good thing. There is a Grandma in every one who encourages, there is great wisdom in such person. As Jesus was known for encouragement too, He encouraged the woman caught in adultery, He never condemned her." Thanks a lot. Bro Biodun Micheal and Bro Segun Odusoga for your words of encouragement on this blog, There is a Grandma in you, and you will be a Grand pa someday.Encourage someone everyday!.... God bless all our Grandmothers and Grandpas that gave birth to our wonderful parents.

MAYBE

Maybe, maybe this, maybe that, maybe you said it once, like i just did, but why do we do this ?
Uncertainty, lack of authority ?..... Maybe Jesus didn't die, maybe there is no heaven, maybe there is no hell, maybe God won't answer that prayer, maybe God has not forgiven that sin, maybe the Muslims are right, maybe the christian are right...."Heave!!!" why are we not certain ? why the confusion ? it freaking annoying, maybe Adam sins never counts, maybe it true you are a sinner forever, Nooooooooooo, that's impossible!
But, what if we stay on the right side, believing no matter what, it will all be in our favor, what if we see good in every man, what if we believe in all that is good, what if all our thought is good, what if no mater what anyone does, all you see his good, what if you believe there is no hell, what if there is no wrong religion, what if we all need to see good, what if Jesus is all good, NOW STOP!!
It no longer what if, because am certain Jesus is good because i believe. So all am saying let all the doubt be cleared let all our body be good, let see good in every man, let believe and live in good, because God is good.So when i meet you, i can give you a slap, but believe like a bee sting it all good...Lol, Am not a preacher here, am just making sense like Sen.Ben Murray Bruce

Welcome

Am sure so many people will wonder why "Tayo" as am fondly called by those who are close to me, will start another blog. This will be my third blog, well this is not about making money, this is about writing out my mind and reaching out to people about my feelings. I was washing in my mum's apartment today, i was thinking about life, issues bothering me and the way forward, so i decided to start a blog just about me pouring out my heart and expressing my feelings. My feeling can be so weird ...Lol.
I wish you will tag along, it wont just be about me, it will be about how i feel about other things, like; technology, education, social responsibilities, news and trends all in my own perspective. I won't promise you fun but you can get to know me more and see the way i think.Am very keen on your observations and will love to see your comments.Am not the next "Linda Ikeji" and am not trying to chase her, so don't expect latest gist news and all the things you expect or see in most blogs.
Finally, i kinda wish this will turn out good and i make money from it ..Lol, but no qualms if i don't but i must enjoy myself and you must get really informed, at least about technogies.
